Physica Massage Oil

I chose Physica, the Latin word for physical form and ‘the study of nature’, as the name of this beautiful and grounding massage oil that can be used to act as a conduit for gentle care and connection. In life it is sensual and calming.

After death it becomes something truly sacred. A sublime and deeply moving way to care for the body after washing. The act of washing and then applying this oil to the body, face and hands, to limbs and torso, is one of the tenderest things we can do in life. It is a way of expressing love, and of gently saying our goodbyes.

I have selected resins and oils that have been used in spiritual care for millennia, including myrrh, frankincense, helichrysum and bergamot.

To use: pump a small amount 2-3 drops into the palm of your hand. Rub hands together to spread the oil and then gently massage skin.
